In the evolution of stupid things to take pictures of, tebowing is hot on the heels of planking. Now all we need is a 5 second video of someone yelling no and kicking a tebower in the crotch.
Tebow is a quarterback in the NFL. Bowing down on one knee with a clenched hand on your head and the elbow of the same hand on the knee that is up is known as 'Tebowing' and is getting high school students suspended for organizing kneeldowns.
Taking a knee used to mean something entirely different for quarterbacks. Taking a knee would signify ending the play immediately after hiking the ball. Tebowing is taking a knee of a different kind.
It is my hope that tebowing becomes associated with 2011 and immediately fades to obscurity in the next few weeks. However, web sites like www.tebowing.com are hoping for a longer stay.
Just remember, once tebowing is done on the NBC TV show The Office, the trend is officially over.
Let's just hope we can all get through the holidays without having to feign laughter about tebowing. I doubt it, though.
