After The Gold Rush - What I Sang To You - David Johnson

This is another of my songs. I call it After The Gold Rush. I wrote it because I didn't think that only Neil Young could have a cool song called After The Gold Rush.

It's about someone that's been watching the good things get away from him.

Lyrics

Here I go again, getting there late

But the party had to start, no one could wait.

I'm taking my shoes off at the door, you're putting yours on.

Guess I'm glad that I got here before you were gone.

Feels like my wagon arrives after the gold rush

When all the nuggets have been found.

When everybody has moved on

And all of the gold is gone.

The sun's already risen and you're getting married today.

You cannot know how I feel, you're too swept away.

Pocket full of poseys, I guess I should move on.

You're standing before God, yet you're already gone.

Feels like my wagon arrives after the gold rush

when all the nuggets have been found.

When everybody has moved on...

And all of the gold is gone.
