David Johnson: and have extremely limited contact with the past administrator
David Johnson: We have ssl for sapiencurvecorp.com
David Johnson: and I would like to transfer that to another machine
David Johnson: However, I have to start whatever process there is of getting me to be the person able to do this
David Johnson: i have worked with ssl before, but it has always been with verisign
David Johnson: therefore, i expect this to be a very hard process
David Johnson: with much aggravation
David Johnson: :-)
Erica Butler: Please may I have your locality to better assist you? (Country or State if located in the US)
David Johnson: Cleveland, Ohio, US
Erica Butler: Please hold while I transfer you to your sales advisor, they will be able to assist you further (Please be advised that all chat history will be included in the transfer for your convenience)

Eric van der Linde: Hi David,
David Johnson: Hello Eric!
Erica Butler has left the session.
David Johnson: Goodbye Erica!
Eric van der Linde: From what I understand you need to transfer the certificate to another server.
David Johnson: Eric, your understanding is correct
David Johnson: The DNS has already been updated and propogated
David Johnson: as we moved the url to point to the new server
David Johnson: i found out this morning that my children like to watch barney, but more importantly
David Johnson: i found out that the url has ssl
Eric van der Linde: Then what you will need to do is re-issue your certificate.
David Johnson: yes,
David Johnson: yes, that is correct
David Johnson: okay, i am off
David Johnson: no wait!
David Johnson: I am not the person that got the certificate
David Johnson: in fact, this is probably a worst case scenario
David Johnson: where i have no login
David Johnson: and the only information i have is
David Johnson: Thought
Eric van der Linde: ok,
David Johnson: well, this silence is uncomfortable
David Johnson: oh there we go
David Johnson: :-)
Eric van der Linde: Are you going to be the future contact on the ceritfcat?
David Johnson: yes i am
David Johnson: i am taking over all web responsibility
David Johnson: and in fact am the technical contact on the registration
David Johnson: i think
Eric van der Linde: Ok, then email cs-support@Thought.com and request a change of contact form
Eric van der Linde: *ignore that for now*
David Johnson: okay
David Johnson: step one
David Johnson: a change of contact form
David Johnson: that email is 'cs-support@Thought.com'
David Johnson: estimated turn around time?
Eric van der Linde: Actually let me transfer you directly to them.
David Johnson: oh shoot
David Johnson: i just emailed
David Johnson: but that's fine

David Johnson: good news... on a whois, I AM the technical contact for sapiencurvecorp.com
David Johnson: that should give me some validation
David Johnson: you are probably reading up on what has happened so far... don't mind me
Erica Medrano: Can you please give me one second so I can read transcript and assist you .
David Johnson: that's exactly what I said! we typed over each other. dang, that must be frustrating.
Erica Medrano: In order to reissue your orders you will need all your order numbers and passwords.
David Johnson: wow
Erica Medrano: The reissues are done online and they are done for free
David Johnson: where do i get those?
David Johnson: okay
Erica Medrano: we would need each common name you are reissuing.
Erica Medrano: So we can search and send details to contacts listed on the orders.
David Johnson: can I get a list of domains that Thought is responsible for from you for sapiencurve?
Erica Medrano: I do not see you listed on any orders.
Erica Medrano: The only thing we can verify will be order numbers but not passwords
Erica Medrano: the passwords can only be sent to contacts listed on the orders.
David Johnson: Whatever you got, morty.
David Johnson: I am searching the web server now to see if the old dude put anything there for me
David Johnson: it is hard to type with my fingers crossed
David Johnson: but you do have some order numbers?
Erica Medrano: There is only one order number that is active and valid: XXXXXXX that is for common name: www.sapiencurveCorp.com
David Johnson: awesome
David Johnson: excellent information. I can probably do an intext find and search some documentation against that
David Johnson: in fact, i know i can.
David Johnson: once i have the order id, what would my next step be?
Erica Medrano: I gave you order ID: XXXXXXXX
Erica Medrano: TO reissue you go to www.Thought.com
Erica Medrano: on bottom right hand side you will see link that states reissue certificate
David Johnson: yes you did give me that order
David Johnson: i had almost forgotten
Erica Medrano: Then there you will enter the order and
David Johnson: okay, so Thought.com
Erica Medrano: request the password be sent to you.
David Johnson: now, i need to transfer this, is that the same as 'reissue'?
David Johnson: okay
Erica Medrano: Transfer what?
Erica Medrano: I thought this was all regarding a reissue.
David Johnson: allow me to cut and paste...
Erica Medrano: To transfer from one server to the next may be different steps.
Erica Medrano: I do not know regarding transfering certificates from one server to another.
David Johnson: David Johnson: We have ssl for sapiencurvecorp.com
David Johnson: and I would like to transfer that to another machine
David Johnson: However, I have to start whatever process there is of getting me to be the person able to do this
Erica Medrano: I will can transfer you to our technical department so they can assist you with the transfer steps

You have been connected to Zola Gray.
David Johnson: Zola!
David Johnson: Good day.
Zola Gray: Hi David
David Johnson: So, how's it going, you doing some reading?
David Johnson: finding out what you are getting yourself into here?
David Johnson: does it refresh and make you lose your place every time I type something?
Zola Gray: Yes I'm reading
Zola Gray: :o)
David Johnson: sorry, that would drive me crazy...
David Johnson: just between you and me, you probably could just read the first few lines. Although everyone has been nice, they have really been skilled in the art of transfering ME, not the domain...
David Johnson: I'm getting an inferiority complex here....
David Johnson: it's not a very good one though
Zola Gray: will be with you shortly, multitasking
Zola Gray: You would like to move the domain name sapiencurvecorp.com to another server
David Johnson: yes
David Johnson: that is correct
David Johnson: in fact, the domain name has been moved
David Johnson: dns is propogated
David Johnson: and the server responds to port 80 sapiencurvecorp.com
David Johnson: but, like the sarge in the movie platoon, the ssl got left behind
David Johnson: and I can't live that way
Zola Gray: Do you still have access to the old server?
David Johnson: yes, i do
David Johnson: there are .cer files all over the desktop
David Johnson: it's ugly
Zola Gray: What IIS version is the old server software and what server software you have on the new server?
David Johnson: get this, the old is IIS 5, and the new is IIS 6. This is like 'worst case scenario TV' or something
Zola Gray: You can export the certificate with the private key from the old server and then import it to the new server and assign it to your website as follows :
Zola Gray: http://search.Thought.com/Thought/solution.jsp?id=vs22487
David Johnson: without the account or password information?
David Johnson: i don't know mary from jane when it comes to any of the account or password information, will I still be able to do it?
David Johnson: whoa, hang on
Zola Gray: ok
Zola Gray: Please give me a moment while you are performing those steps
David Johnson: whats that?
David Johnson: okay, doing those steps now
David Johnson: Step 1:
David Johnson: Okay,
David Johnson: i Have completed all the steps
David Johnson: Now, Zola, is that really all there is to it?
David Johnson: that was like butter!
David Johnson: like rich creamy butter!
David Johnson: Sweet Salted Butter!
David Johnson: so now I am going to try to access the iis 6 site with the ssl cert
David Johnson: holy crack
David Johnson: Excuse me while I bend at the knees and honor you Zola
David Johnson: I have a working ssl
David Johnson: i think
David Johnson: looking for the little lock
David Johnson: okay, yep
David Johnson: some of the images are not https on the test page
David Johnson: so there you go
David Johnson: Okay, so
David Johnson: I think that you have totally filled my needs
David Johnson: I am hoping to get something back from you that acknowledges your acknowledgement of my acknowledging what you have done.
David Johnson: Talk to me, goose.
David Johnson: (movie reference: top gun)
David Johnson: ZOOOOLLLLLAAA!!!
David Johnson: (movie reference: streetcar named desire)
Zola Gray: I'm back David
David Johnson: HEY YOU!
David Johnson: You are the Smythe Cramer Citizen of the day
David Johnson: https://www.sapiencurvecorp.com/
Zola Gray: Was experiencing connectivity problems with my machine
David Johnson: Thanks so very much for putting up with my banter
David Johnson: and solving my issue
David Johnson: I want to say something about kissing you, but I don't know if you are a man or a woman, and don't want to be too flirtatious in a chat room
David Johnson: my wife would get pretty mad
Zola Gray: I'm a man
Zola Gray: :o)
David Johnson: then my wife would get REALLY mad
David Johnson: Zola, seriously, you made my day
David Johnson: thank you
Zola Gray: You are welcome
