Definition of a Flink

I have a page on my site that has animal groups and their definitions. In the animal group definition for cows the page mentions that 12 cows are a flink.

A flink?

That's right. A flink.

Of course, flink can mean other things. Definitions run from a computer game to a snitch(not quidditch). But if you are talking about a group of 12 cows, then you can say flink.

Less than 12 cows are a kine of cows. But 12 are a flink. If it is more than 12, I believe it is called a herd. My research shows that some call more than 12 a flink. Yet some call more than 12 a herd.

Usage of flink is not widespread outside of the central United States. It is probably used more in trivia than in reality.

FLINK!
