Avoid Amway
Apparently I am one of those people that new Amway recruits think of when they are asked if they know anyone who would be good for their downline. Let me stand up now and let everyone know that I would be hell on their downline. Never ask me. Never even think of asking me.
If you are ever in the position where you are considering selling Amway products there are a few things that you should know.
You will be asked to buy books and tapes that will help you sell. These books and tapes will be available for sale, though occasionally one may be given to you just for listenings sake. The motivational speaking in the tape will be to help you sell. The real motivation is to get you to buy more tapes.
You will be asked to attend conferences. The conferences may come at a price or they may be free. At the conference you will be asked to buy books and tapes.
You will have a whole new group of friends. These people are currently trying to work the program. They have probably already heard the tapes. They are probably really in to positive thinking. They will probably tell you how wonderful Amway is and how much it means to them.
You will probably hear that Amway is a Christian organization. This will probably lead to people saying that they feel closer to God because of Amway. They will also say that they believe God wants them to succeed and that he has given them Amway to do so.
Should you join the program and then choose not to be involved anymore, you will no longer have any of those Amway friends.
God will still love you, and your real friends will probably still love you, depending on how much you chose not to be around them while you were hanging out with your Amway friends.
There may be one person that has done well with Amway. You are not that one person. Listening to tapes will not help you to be that one person, although buying the tapes will probably help the Amway person you bought them from begin to believe that they are that one person. They aren't either.
You will be told to ignore the web pages that say Amway sucks. You may google Amway sucks early during your first Amway exposure. You will find those web pages that say Amway sucks. You should bookmark them so you can read them later and wonder why you didn't listen.
Nobody wants an Amagift.
Early on, you will wonder why more people aren't involved in Amway. Later on, you will feel sorry for the people that are still involved in Amway.
Bookmark me.
Lastly, if you really think the products are that good, you can always just buy them from someone who is drinking the Amway Kool-Aid.
Quixtar is Amway.
Therefore, avoid Quixtar.
Don't let your pastor know if you join Amway. He is still recovering from the last one.
God probably does want you to be successful. But he probably doesn't want you to sell Amway.
So there you have it. Please don't ever think that 'davidj would be good' because I wouldn't be.
